Be Still and Know

2016 Cast Glass, Bronze, Plaster

This project went into Truro Cathedral in the ‘Create to Commemorate’ exhibition. The project was made to commemorate still born babies and child deaths in response to a book I found while visiting the Cathedral, dedicated to these infants. Not often spoken about, their lives are worth commemorating and worth remembering. Each vessel was made to represent a baby, unique, innocent, and peaceful. Viewers were invited to scoop a small amount of water from the larger glass bowl and decant it into one of the smaller ones as an act of remembrance for a chld or baby they have known and loved; an act of quiet reflection and reverance.
